Compound butter, do you use them? They`re such an easy way to really take the flavor up a notch or three with meats, fish, chicken, vegetables or use as an instasauce kind of thing with pasta. Better yet they take all of about 5 minutes to make & are crazy versatile. You can use just about any spice, herb, fruit or cheese combination with butter your little heart desires depending on preference. With that being said this simple man`s plan to better eating is coming at you with 3 Ingredient Blue Cheese & Cracked Pepper Compound Butter.

Here`s all you need for your 3 Ingredient Blue Cheese & Cracked Pepper Compound Butter:
Butter- 1 stick
Blue Cheese- 4 oz
Freshly Ground Black Pepper- 1 TablespoonNothing complicated here. This packs so much punch using such easy ingredients.Add the Blue Cheese, Butter & Black Pepper to a bowl. I threw it into the microwave for about 30 seconds to speed the softening process but that`s totally up to you. Otherwise just take it out of the fridge for a bit to soften.Use a fork to thoroughly combine. You could totally use a handheld mixer if you want but a fork worked perfectly. Less stuff to wash which I`m big on. I like making the mess, cleaning up not so much.Lay out a piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap & add the butter mixture to the center.Take the bottom part of the parchment paper or plastic wrap & pull it up over the butter mixture to form a log or roll.At this point just twist the ends & put in your fridge or freezer to firm up. Then when you need it simply slice & add to your desired food. It will last a few days refrigerated or up to 3 months in the freezer.

  2. I love compound butters. Too much. Sometimes I’ll cut off small pieces and eat it like cheese. Bad, I know. Your Blue Cheese & Cracked Pepper Compound Butter looks soooo good and I’d eat that plain too. Lol. Or on top of a steak like in your first picture. Looking at this got me way too hungry :)
